Six individuals were honored for outstanding careers in hoof care during Hall Of Fame induction ceremonies at the 13th annual International Hoof Care Summit held recently in Cincinnati, Ohio

Three farriers joined the International Horseshoeing Hall Of Fame and three veterinarians were added to the International Equine Veterinarian Hall Of Fame.

Farriers

Steve Kraus, CJF, of Trumansburg, New York, is the head farrier at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, in Ithaca, New York, where he helps educate the next generation of farriers and veterinary students and provides hoof care for the university hospital. In addition, he is a well-known farrier clinician in North America and around the world.

Kraus previously built a successful farrier practice in New York’s Finger Lakes region where he specialized in troubleshooting under-performing horses. His client list includes hunter/jumpers, dressage horses, and event horses, among others. He is a past president of the Western New York Farriers Association and a member of the board of directors for region 5 of the American Farrier’s Association
