The Horse, EPM Society Become Media Partners

The Horse: Your Guide to Equine Health Care/TheHorse.com and the EPM Society have formed a media partnership designed to help horse owners care for horses with equine protozoal myeloencephalitis. This often-debilitating neurologic disease is caused by the single-celled protozoan parasites Sarcocystis neurona and Neospora hughesi.
The EPM Society endeavors to contribute to a greater understanding of the disease and encourage cooperative EPM research, promote awareness of current EPM research and new developments in the field, and evaluate and disseminate guidelines for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of EPM.
The Horse Media Group, publisher of The Horse: Your Guide to Equine Health Care and TheHorse.com, and EPM Society will cooperate on distributing updates on this important neurologic disease, both to veterinarians and horse owners. All members of the EPM Society—clinicians and researchers studying the disease, along with supporting pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies—will receive digital subscriptions to the monthly magazine The Horse: Your Guide to Equine Health Care. Also, the EPM Society logo will join those of The Horse Media Group’s esteemed Partners in Equine Health, which also include the American Association of Equine Practitioners, British Equine Veterinary Association, World Equine Veterinary Association, American Association of Equine Veterinary Technicians, and American Association of Professional Farriers
