The University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine (Penn Vet) has announced that Olivia Lorello, VMD, PhD, has joined the New Bolton Center’s Equine Field Service team.
“I am beyond excited for this opportunity to work alongside some of the best veterinarians in the world,” said Lorello. “New Bolton Center is uniquely surrounded by a large equine community, with horses of all backgrounds—beloved members of the family to elite athletes with demanding jobs—that enable us to practice medicine ranging from preventative care to high-level performance evaluations.”
After graduating from Penn Vet in 2012, Lorello completed a year-long internship at B.W. Furlong & Associates in New Jersey. She then moved to Switzerland and earned a PhD from the University of Bern, where she studied cardiovascular disease in equine athletes. Most recently, Lorello was a practicing clinician at Brazos Valley Equine Hospital, a large private practice referral center in Texas
