An attending veterinarian in Ohio confirmed that a 12-year-old Quarter Horse from Stark County tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV) on Sept. 19, marking the state’s first equine case this year. The unvaccinated mare’s clinical signs began Sept. 13, and she is reported as deceased.
