Pennsylvania Industry Veterinarian Joins AAEP Board of Directors

Sarah Reuss, VMD, Dipl. ACVIM, a professional services veterinarian in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with Boehringer Ingelheim, has joined the American Association of Equine Practitioners’ (AAEP) board of directors. Reuss was installed during the Dec. 10 President’s Luncheon at the AAEP’s 65th Annual Convention, in Denver, Colo. Her term will conclude in 2022.

Reuss transitioned from academia to industry in 2016 with Merial, which was subsequently acquired by Boehringer Ingelheim. For six years prior, Reuss had been a clinical assistant professor and chief of the large animal medicine service at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, in Gainesville, where she served on the Admissions and the Internship and Residency Evaluation committees and as a faculty advisor to the AAEP and AVMA Student Chapters.

Upon earning her veterinary degree from University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia/Kennett Square, in 2005, Dr. Reuss completed an internship at Equine Medical Center of Ocala, in Florida, and a large animal internal medicine residency at Texas A&M University, in College Station. She joined University of Florida following a stint in general practice at McKinlay and Peters Equine Hospital, in Colbert, Washington.

Reuss is a member of the AAEP’s Member Engagement Committee and previously served on the Educational Programs Committee. She’s also served on various committees with the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine
