A packed stadium at Deodoro Olympic Park in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil exploded into a wall of sound today when Team Brazil matched Germany’s performance, posting zero faults as the Rio 2016 Olympic Jumping competition got underway. 
 
The first jumping qualifier sets the starting order for the first round of the team medal-decider on Tuesday, Aug. 16., and is taken into account for individual rankings. Following today’s result, Brazil and Germany will get the best of the draw for the team event.
 
The world and European champions from The Netherlands collected four faults, along with Canada, France, and Switzerland. Qatar collected five, and the defending Olympic champions from Great Britain shared an eight-fault result and a current eighth-place tie with the United States, Spain, and Sweden.
 
Team USA includes Beezie Madden and Cortes ‘C,’ McClain Ward and HH Azur, Kent Farrington and Voyeur, and Lucy Davis and Barron. Farrington and Voyeur jumped clean, with their teammates ending with four faults each.
 
A total of 15 teams and 75 riders representing 27 countries are competing in jumping. In total, 24 riders jumped clean.
