Additional Equine WNV Cases Reported Across Country

More horses from multiple states tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV) in the past few days, the Equine Disease Communication Center (EDCC) has reported.
Oklahoma—The EDCC reported Sept. 28 that the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture has confirmed two equine WNV cases—one in Grant county and one in McClain County.
In Grant County, the EDCC said, a yearling Quarter Horse stallion was diagnosed after exhibiting severe neurologic signs of disease; that horse’s vaccination history is unknown.
Meanwhile, in McClain County, a yearling Quarter Horse filly also showed severe neurologic signs and was euthanized; her vaccination status is also unknown, the EDCC said
