Operations at Suffolk Downs have returned to normal after tests came back negative on five horses who developed elevated temperatures after one horse stabled on the backside died from a case of equine herpes myeloencephalopathy earlier this month.

The guidelines, outlined in a five-page report authored by veterinarians from the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom, concentrate on 21 areas to ensure the humane treatment of racehorses.
