In British Columbia, Canada, an injunction has been sought from the Supreme Court in the Municipality of North Cowichan requiring a woman to remove her 2-year-old “pet Miniature Horse, Buckley, from a quarter-acre residential lot,” according to an article on canada.com.


The municipality’s laws prohibit farm animals from being kept “on property less than 8,000 square metres.”


Arguments revolve around whether the Miniature Horse is a farm animal. The municipality received a complaint against the horse, and the owner was told in April 2007 that the horse must be removed from the property. The case is continuing
