Thoroughbred Charities of America (TCA) has awarded grants totaling $512,105 in 2014 to 74 Thoroughbred industry-related nonprofits that work to uphold the organization's mission.

The charitable arm of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA), TCA distributes grants to several Thoroughbred industry related nonprofits, including rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption organizations; backstretch and farm employee programs; therapeutic riding programs; and research organizations. Applications for the 2015 grant cycle will be available on www.tca.org next year in early January.

"We are very pleased to announce our 2014 grants," said TCA president Dan Rosenberg. "These grants are only possible due to the generosity of our donors; without their support these grants would not be possible. We are committed to being a good steward of any and all donations made to TCA and, accordingly, employ an extensive application and review process. Our 2014 grantees are working hard to uphold our mission and we are proud to support them."

Since its inception in 1990 TCA has granted more than $20 million to more than 200 Thoroughbred-related charities that successfully meet the criteria set forth in its annual grant application
