The American Association of Equine Practitioners’ (AAEP) third annual Encore meeting will offer more continuing education opportunities for veterinarians and introduce an education program for veterinary technicians. The meeting, which features repeat performances of the most popular sessions and demonstrations from the AAEP’s 2000 Annual Convention, will be held in Philadelphia, July 20 –22, at the Wyndham Franklin Plaza Hotel.

The three-day Encore program includes a sport horse lameness presentation and panel discussion, sessions on equine chiropractic and acupuncture, reproduction, and several presentations on practical equine topics that attendees can immediately implement in their veterinary practices. A wet lab offering hands-on experience with equine ultrasonography will be held in conjunction with the meeting. A total of 21 continuing education hours can be obtained at Encore.

For the first time, the AAEP will offer a continuing education program designed for equine veterinary technicians. The technician program, to be held on July 21, features scientific presentations and a communication skills session designed to enhance interaction with both clients and colleagues. Eight continuing education credits are available to technicians who attend the program.
