Arenus, a division of Novus Nutrition Brands LLC, in conjunction with researchers from Texas A&M University, is studying the efficacy of a new, patent-pending technology in joint supplements, according to Marketing Manager Jeremy Moore.

In this study, 16 horses with grade 2-4 AAEP lameness scores will be evaluated over the course of six weeks. The researchers will measure the horses’ lameness scores, stride length, and biomarkers indicative of bone and joint health and metabolism in the synovial fluid and blood. The study is double-blind and placebo-controlled.

“We are excited about this study and our partnership with Texas A&M,” said Moore. “Given the monetary and emotional investment owners have in their horses, keeping them sound is a top health concern.”
