Another Kentucky horse has tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV), E.S. Rusty Ford, equine operations consultant for the Kentucky State Veterinarian’s Office, said in a Nov. 14 statement. There are now 17 confirmed cases of WNV in Kentucky horses this year.

He said Equine Diagnostic Solutions, in Lexington, confirmed the diagnosis.

The 7-year-old Percheron gelding presented on Nov. 7 with hind-limb ataxia (incoordination) and muscle fasciculation (involuntary twitching)
