Colorado Horse Herd Seized
Colorado law enforcement authorities seized more than 60 horses from a property in Penrose last week.
In a written statement Fremont County Sheriff’s Office Detective Sergeant Megan Richards said that on Jan. 20 sheriff’s, deputies along with personnel from the Colorado Humane Society and Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Dumb Friends League, confiscated 63 horses following an animal cruelty investigation conducted by the sheriff’s department.
The horse’s owner, who was not named, cooperated with the seizure, Richards’ statement said.
