The signs of pain can be as obvious as a three-legged lameness or as subtle as a pinched look on your horse’s face. Pain can affect performance, cause poor welfare, or indicate a life-threatening issue. As horse owners, we need to recognize signs our horses are hurting and work with our veterinarians to address the causes of discomfort.
To help, The Horse: Your Guide To Equine Health Care and Zoetis have partnered for Pain Awareness month this September. We’ll cover topics ranging from acute to chronic pain to helping manage your horse’s discomfort as the weather turns cold.
Look for pain-related content all month on TheHorse.com, our Facebook page and Twitter feed, and in our e-newsletters.
