App Connects New York Police With State Animal Statutes
A new smartphone app developed by the New York State Animal Protection Foundation (NYSAPF) is intended to help law enforcement personnel identify animal cruelty cases by providing them with access to animal laws in that state.
“Law enforcement does not always know which state laws apply or where to find the law,” said NYSAPF executive director Libby Post. “The app was developed so that when a call comes in or when a complaint is filed, law enforcement knows if cruelty laws apply.”
Post said the app could be expanded in the future.
“One of our next goals with the app is to put local law into the hands of local law enforcement,” she said
