The Appaloosa Horse Club has put its World Championship Show on hold after a horse on the premises began exhibiting neurologic clinical signs, according to a statement from the organization. The show, taking place at the Will Rogers Equestrian Center in Fort Worth, Texas, got under way Oct. 21 and is slated to conclude Oct. 29.

"With the advice of on-site veterinarians, the Will Rogers Equestrian Center is prohibiting the movement of horses into or out of the facility and has specifically quarantined one barn," the statement read. "Additional biosecurity measures have been implemented, and exhibitors are cooperating in an effort to mitigate any potential risks of infection. Laboratory results are expected by later in the day on Wednesday (Oct. 26)."

The signs the horse displayed were not reported in the statement.
