Merck Animal Health will supplement the biannual newsletter NextVet, brought to you by Merck Animal Health’s Partners in Practice. This student version of the popular equine veterinary newsletter Partners in Practice will mail with the March and October 2012 issues of The Horse: Your Guide To Equine Health Care exclusively to equine veterinary students.

NextVet targets a younger equine veterinary demographic and is designed to reach these individuals as they are just entering the industry. The newsletter features timely, practical professional and lifestyle advice, information, and tips from well-known veterinarians.

"We believe the future of equine veterinary medicine is bright, due in part to the role the veterinary student plays in sustaining our industry’s success," said Joe Ferraro, equine product manager for Merck Animal Health. "The NextVet student edition of Partners in Practice is just one of many ways we are committed to supporting these young professionals."

"Students on the path to becoming equine practitioners have a number of important decisions to make that will impact the direction of their careers," said Stephanie L. Church, Editor-in-Chief of The Horse. "They might be seeking internships, managing student debt, or preparing for interviews. These are the individuals who will be taking care of our horses in the very near future and educating horse owners, and we’re delighted to be connecting them with wisdom and advice from experienced veterinarians through NextVet
