There now are 51 confirmed cases of equine influenza in horses at eight premises, and 18 other properties where equine influenza is suspected in New South Wales (NSW), said  Department of Primary Industries Minister Ian Macdonald today (Aug. 27). There are a total of 415 horses in formal quarantine on those eight properties.


Macdonald confirmed infected properties are at Centennial Park and Equestrian Centre, Eastern Creek Quarantine Station, Wilberforce (near Windsor), Cattai (near Windsor), Berry, Parkes, Tamworth (Moonbi), and Wyong.


The properties with suspected cases of equine influenza are located in the Sydney region at Randwick, Camden, Londonderry, Box Hill, Concord, and Arcadia; in the Hunter Valley region at Aberdeen, Gloucester, Wyong, and Muswellbrook; and in the northwest at Moree.
