Darren Chiacchia, a 2004 U.S. Olympic equestrian team member, was critically injured during an event Saturday.


The 42-year-old Chiacchia was injured during a fall at a fence at the Red Hills Horse Trials competition, event organizers Red Horse Trails said.


Chiacchia was airlifted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, Red Horse Trails said. Hospital spokesman Warren Jones said he had no information on Chiacchia’s condition.
