The Best of America by Horseback television show travels to the most beautiful and scenic places in America that can be visited by horseback. Trail Master and Host, Tom Seay, said, “I am extremely excited for the opportunity to meet horse enthusiasts and trail riders from all over the country. It is a pleasure to take the time to meet each rider, learn about their experiences and places they recommend that we ride. We will be inviting the Governor, the Secretary of Agriculture and the State Veterinarian to be our special guests. We are also seeking trail riding groups and individuals to ride with us as we produce a show on each location.”

Other than a small fee to be on the official trail ride, the other events will be open to the public free of charge. Those events will feature trail riding seminars with nationally known clinician, Kerry Kuhn, music by cowboy singer/songwriter Delbert Shields, and special events for the children, such as the “buckaroo and buckette” stick rodeo.

In addition, selected sponsors of Best of America by Horseback will be providing “hands-on” demonstrations such including saddle fitting with the Tucker Saddle Company, small farm equipment demonstrations with John Deere, and educational demonstrations by the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeder’s and Exhibitors Assoc. (TWHBEA) demonstrating the Tennessee Walking Horse’s versatility.

As we visit America’s Heartland and re-discover America’s roots, Best of America by Horseback will also be searching for the best home-made apple pie. In addition, they will be encouraging local artists to display cowboy, outdoor and western art. These works of art will be on display at the ride for all riders and the public to view. Friday evening, before the official trail ride, there will be a Trail Master’s reception where the state tourism office will be invited to display information about points of interest throughout the state.

The entire event at each location will be showcased in a special Best of America by Horseback television show, as well as be printed in a “coffee-table” style book, which will not only include all the names the riders and their horses, but beautiful photos of the host sight and town.

Before hosting the current television series, Seay is well known for his 1995, 3,000-mile, Atlantic to Pacific trail ride from Tybee Island, Ga., to San Diego, Calif. That adventure captured the imagination of thousands, was seen on CNN World Wide News and featured in a European television documentary entitled, “The American West.”
