Louisiana Derby runner-up Ketchikan is lame in his left front foot, which could knock him off the Triple Crown trail. The colt’s owner, B. Wayne Hughes, said the 3-year-old son of Mr. Greeley was sent to Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington Monday to be evaluated by Larry Bramlage, DVM, Dipl. ACVS.

“We don’t know what’s wrong, but we’re going to find out,” said Hughes, who was in Lexington Monday to attend an under tack show for the Keeneland sale of 2-year-olds in training.

Al Stall Jr. trains Ketchikan, who has won two of his four career races and has earned $175,000.

“After we threw up our Easter dinner, we decided to try and figure out what was wrong and go straight to the clinic rather than waste time with field units,” Stall said
