Last week we asked our readers who cares for their horses during the long Thanksgiving weekend. More than 1,000 people responded and we’ve tallied the results!

Of the 1,096 respondents, 748 (68%) said they stay home for the holiday and care for their own horses, while 195 (18%) said their horse is boarded and under someone else’s care. Another 75 respondents (7%) said they have a neighbor or friend care for their horse while they are away, and 44 people (4%) said they hire a house-sitter to care for their horses. The remaining 34 respondents (3%) had other arrangements for caring for their horses during the holiday weekend.
