A Texas couple is facing multiple animal cruelty charges in connection with the alleged maltreatment of 39 horses removed from their Coryell County property earlier this week. In addition, 250 dogs, two Bengal tigers, two mountain lions, one primate, one deer, and one raccoon were found residing on the property.

Chief Deputy Joe Blakely of the Coryell County Sheriff's Department said that deputies acting on a warrant removed horses after their owners Curtis and Raycene Moore failed to carry out a Sheriff's Department Livestock Officer's instructions for their care. All the horses showed signs of malnutrition, Blakely said.

Deputies found the other animals while removing the horses.

"We went out to execute the warrant on the horses and found the other animals," Blakely said. "We're seeking warrants to remove those animals
