Seized Chicago Carriage Horses Transferred
Although carriage company J.C. Cutters Ltd. has not yet had its day in court, the six carriage horses seized Feb. 6 due to alleged city code violations have been transferred to a northwest Illinois equine rescue facility and are up for adoption.

Although carriage company J.C. Cutters Ltd. has not yet had its day in court, the six carriage horses seized Feb. 6 due to alleged city code violations have been transferred to a northwest Illinois equine rescue facility and are up for adoption.
A spokesperson at the Hooved Animal Humane Society (HAHS) in Woodstock, Ill., confirmed that the horses arrived at the facility last week.
“We have signed forms transferring legal ownership to HAHS,” she said. “One horse has been adopted, and we’ve had interest in the others.” Although they’ve received calls from individuals concerned about the process, HAHS is referring all such callers to the Chicago Animal Care and Control office.
According to Kerri Stojack, a staffer in Chicago City Council member Alderman Scott Waguespack’s office, ACC was looking to adopt out the horses as early as mid-March
