One of the primary goals for the American Quarter Horse Foundation is to provide financial support for equine research. Throughout the past few years AQHF has been successful in raising thousands of dollars for equine research, however, a new challenge has been set, one that is vital to the future of the American Quarter Horse.

Carol Rose, an AQHA Leading Breeder, has challenged American Quarter Horse Members to raise money for stallion reproductive research. The challenge—the Equine Research Challenge for Stallion Reproductive Research at Texas A&M University— was created by Carol Rose Quarter Horses and Shining Spark, an AQHA World Champion and second year Leading Sire of performance horses for AQHA.

Beginning this year, Carol Rose Quarter Horses will match $1 for every $1 raised (up to $20,000) for the next four years. If the full match is met, in the year 2004, this challenge will have raised $200,000 restricted to stallion reproductive studies at Texas A&M University.

“This challenge will focus on stallion reproductive studies, an important aspect in preserving the future of the American Quarter Horse,” said Carol Rose. “It also will assist Texas A&M University and its students by creating nation-wide awareness of Texas A&M University’s research studies in the area of stallion reproduction
