Remaining current and informed is crucial to success in the horse industry, but busy schedules do not always provide time out for education. To address this need, the Equine Research Centre in Guelph, Ontario, has developed the Distance Learning series: five home-study courses that cover essential topics in equine care and management.

The Distance Learning program was developed in partnership with the University of Kentucky and consists of instructional videos, supplemented with additional materials provided by the Equine Research Centre. The Centre also offers access to its extensive library and resource center for ease in obtaining horse health and industry information.

The five Distance Learning courses offered by the ERC are:

Topics covered include pregnancy management, parturition, management of the newborn foal, the estrous cycle, semen collection, insemination and much more
