Some of the equestrian equipment stolen from Southern Arkansas University (SAU) earlier this month has been recovered, but five horses also taken during the incident have yet to be found.

On Nov. 2, five Quarter Horses belonging to students who are members of the school’s collegiate rodeo team were taken from the Mulerider Stables on the university’s Magnolia, Ark., campus. A horse trailer and a variety of equestrian equipment were also taken from the stables. The trailer was recovered in McCurtain County, Okla., on Nov. 3.

Jeremy Langley, SAU spokesman, said that on Nov. 11 McCurtain County Sheriff’s Deputies recovered saddles, blankets, and other miscellaneous tack taken during the incident. The horses have not been found, he said.

As the investigation into the thefts continues, Langley declined to comment on where the tack was found, or the suspected location of the missing horses
