Horse Castrated, Dies in Texas

Texas law enforcement authorities are seeking whoever castrated a stallion before leaving him to die in a Fannin County pasture.
Fannin County Sheriff Mike Johnson said an owner reported finding her stallion castrated and dead in his pasture on April 10. The police report stated the owner found the horse when she went out to feed him, Johnson said.
“Someone had tried to choke the horse with a rope, then castrated it,” he said.
The owner told police the horse was used for breeding and valued at approximately $50,000, he said
