Breeding horses requires both a financial and emotional investment, and nothing in horse ownership is quite as disappointing as having a mare’s ultrasound come up empty during a pregnancy check. Causes of equine infertility vary and can range from poor sperm motility to improper semen shipping and handling to uterine infections in mares. With that in mind, The Horse: Your Guide To Equine Health Care has partnered with Dechra, the makers of SucroMate Equine, to educate horse owners about breeding and equine fertility during the week of March 7-12, 2022. Look for equine-breeding-related content all week on TheHorse.com, our Facebook page and Twitter feed, and in our e-newsletters.
