The University of London’s Royal Veterinary College (RVC) announced last month that Stuart Reid, BVMS, PhD, DVM, Dipl. ECVPH, FRSE, MRCVS, who has an equine background, has been reappointed principal for a second five-year term, ending in 2020.

“I am absolutely delighted that Stuart has agreed to continue to lead the RVC," said Lord Curry of Kirkharle, chairman of RVC Council. "We have had a remarkable four years since his appointment and my fellow councilors were unanimous in their support for his reappointment. There is no doubt that under his leadership, the RVC has developed enormously through some troubled times and continues to grow in reputation and stature; I am sure that news of his reappointment will signal to the sector our great confidence in college’s future.”

Reid said, “Leading the Royal Veterinary College is a great honor and there can be no better job in the sector for an academic with a background in animal and human health. We have had a terrific few years at the RVC and I pay tribute to everybody who has made our time together so successful. I’m just the one who is lucky enough to be captain of the team. The next few years will see increasing challenges but I know that with the support of our council, friends and stakeholders, the staff and students of the RVC will continue to deliver science, education and clinical care of the highest standard. I am delighted to be part of the college’s future."
