The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Utah’s Salt Lake Field Office is seeking comments on the Onaqui Mountain Wild Horse Fertility Control Plan Environmental Assessment (EA).
This EA analyzes potential impacts of treating mares on the Onaqui herd management area with the fertility control vaccine porcine zona pellucida through remote darting. The EA describes potential environmental impacts from implementing the proposed project and includes maps of the project area which is located west of Tooele, Utah.
The EA is available for review online at https://www.blm.gov/ut/enbb/index.php (search for project name “Onaqui”).
Written comments will be accepted by letter or email until March 6. Please note that the most useful comments are those that contain new technical or scientific information relevant to the proposed action. Comments should be as specific as possible. Comments which contain only opinions or preferences will not receive a formal response but could be considered in the BLM decision-making process. Please reference “Onaqui Mountain Wild Horse Fertility Control Plan EA” when submitting comments
