Three college students topped a field of 20 applicants to become 2015 American Horse Publications (AHP) Student Award finalists.

The three AHP Travel Award Winners will each receive $750 travel awards to attend the 2015 Tally-Ho at the Alamo Seminar in San Antonio, Texas, on June 18-20, 2015, for three days of educational sessions and related activities.

The student travel award winners for 2015 are:

  • Victoria “Dixie” Crowe, a junior at Colorado State University (CSU) double majoring in equine sciences and journalism and media communications. Crowe grew up in the suburbs of Northern Virginia where her equine background included weekly English riding lessons in elementary and junior high school as well a few western trail rides in Southern California. When she decided to attend CSU for a second bachelor’s degree in equine sciences to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, a professor in humane livestock handling suggested she change her direction to writing in the equine industry
