Charges Filed in Oklahoma Horse Dragging Incident

A Vian, Okla., man has been charged with animal cruelty after allegedly using an all-terrain vehicle to drag a horse down a gravel road.
Sequoyah County, Okla., Sheriff Ron Lockhart said that on Nov. 10 Sheriff’s Department personnel responded to a call about an injured horse. Upon arriving at the scene they discovered the severely injured animal tied to a tree. Deputies later learned that the horse’s owner, Reuben Houston, had allegedly tied the horse to a 4-wheeler and dragged it down a gravel road. Due to the severity of its injuries, the horse was euthanized by a veterinarian, Lockhart said.
Houston was later charged with animal cruelty. He is free on bond, Lockhart said.
Additional charges may be pending, Lockhart said
