The Texas Racing Commission has issued a directive to prohibit ship-in horses from Fair Grounds racetrack in New Orleans, La., following the discovery of a horse positive for equine herpesvirus-1, according to CBS sportsline.com.
Yesterday (Jan. 2), Oaklawn Park in Arkansas announced it would not allow horses from Fair Grounds and other potentially affected tracks over the weekend, and that it would re-evaluate its stance on Monday.
While one barn at Fair Gounds remains under quarantine, on Dec. 31 the track again allowed horses to ship in and race at the track
