I know it’s supposed to be the time of holiday cheer, but is anyone else grumpy? Tired? Stretched thin (inside and out) from too much shopping and too many sugar cookies? Well, if that’s the case, I bring you some good news today to lift your spirits. While in Paris (Paris, Kentucky) on Saturday for a book signing, I got an update on Ten Hail Marys, the older broodmare who wouldn’t give up until she became pregnant one last time. (Chapter 5, Equine ER).

The Divine Mare: Ten Hail Marys. 

Ten Hail Marys was retired last year to Bethlehem Farm and the Center for Women in Racing in Paris. The organization is both a horse rescue operation and an outfit for women in the racing industry struggling with issues such as addiction and domestic violence
