Author Bern Williams once said, “If a June night could talk, it would probably boast it invented romance.” That’s right … it’s summer and the general consensus is that the warmest season of the year is a great time to find or further love in one’s life. Unfortunately for a poor sap in Poland, the stunt he pulled one June night very well could prevent him from finding that loving feeling any time soon.

According to a (very amusing) story from AOL News, Jan Rudnicki, a 40-year-old Polish man, had tried numerous times to woo Gosia Domoslawska, a fair maiden looking for her Prince Charming. When Domoslawska repeatedly turned down the Rudnicki’s numerous advances, he finally concocted the plan he was certain would win her affection.

Naturally, this plan included showing up at Domoslawska’s abode shirtless, bashing the door open, and riding his trusty steed into her home.

Yep, you read that right. It’s not clear whether Domoslawska is a horse lover or not, but Rudnicki believed that bringing his equine companion into her living room was the key to her heart
