Rescue to Rockstar: "Jetstar"
“Meet Jetstar, who was rescued by Draft Gratitude last year. Today he is a sweet, curious, and gentle giant. The picture shows Jetstar being a teacher in a firefighter training for safe horse handling.” Read Jetstar's story, as submitted by Rebecca Beaman, here. | Photo: Rebecca Beaman
Rescue to Rockstar: "Roxy"
“I found Roxy years ago when I wasn’t really looking. She’s an OTTB. The top photo is her the day I brought her home, and the bottom photo is her after 6 months of training, TLC, and all the treats she can eat. I stay in contact with her new mom and I am excited for this season to watch her show again and do what she loves!” Read Roxy’s story, as submitted by Kristen Galiastro, here. | Photo: Kristen Galiastro
Rescue to Rockstar: "Spice Girl"
"I met my Spice Girl after a long hard search for the perfect horse as I made my way through my B.S. in equine science from CSU. I was looking for a middle aged well started horse that I wouldn't have to put many miles on. It was love at first sight when I saw my sassy 4-year-old mare in the pasture at Zuma's Rescue Ranch.” Read Spice Girl's story, as submitted by Jordyn Decal, here. | Photo: Jordyn Decal
Rescue to Rockstar: "Gus"
“Gus was rescued, along with eight other stallions, by the New York SPCA in January 2016. Gus’ rehabilitation is to help him learn to be a horse. In mid-April, Gus and I started working on desensitizing and manners. He's being introduced to spray bottles and hoses and plastic bags. And umbrellas....taking it all in stride.” Read Gus's story, as submitted by Casey Stilson, here. | Photo: Casey Stilson
Rescue To Rockstar: "Filly"
“The filly was part of a herd that was rounded up from the Yakama Nation near Yakima, Washington, in the early summer of 2014. We expect this little filly to be a rock star on August 6, 2018, the date on which I will be 80 years old. On that day I intend to mount and ride her, the first person to ever sit astride her back. This is a challenge for both of us.” Read her story, as submitted by Frances Ceraolo, here. | Photo: Frances Ceraolo
Rescue to Rockstar: "Tribute to a Doll"
"Tribute To A Doll, or 'Fanny,' is a 25 year old Thoroughbred. Fanny's story with us began with my autistic son and me visiting a way-off-the-main-road horse rescue in Northwest Arkansas. The above pictures are of Ian and Fanny now ...She's safe, happy, and so loved. And she's given more to me and my son than we could ever repay." Rescue to Rockstar: "Honey"
