Kansas State to Host Equine Clinic on Nov. 8

The Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, along with the Kansas Horse Council, will host their third Horse Care 101 Educational Seminar on Nov. 8. The event will take place at he Frick Auditorium in Mosier Hall on the college campus.
Speakers and presentation topics are slated to include:

Julie Goodnight—Bits and unmounted exercises

Denise Farris—Just Horse Sense and the Law

Randy Raub, MS, PhD—Is Feeding Horses Black and White? Yes and No

Chris Blevins, MS, DVM—Equine Dentistry: Focus on Geriatric Dentistry
Attendees will also have opportunities to participate in hands-on labs. Lab leaders and topics are scheduled to include:

Julie Goodnight—Horse behavior and human interaction

Debra Ratchet—Saddle fitting
-
Equine dermatology
-
Kansas Emergency Response Team demonstration

Farrier demonstration
The education day is $25 for adults, $12 for students, and $80 for veterinary professionals (includes continuing education). The registration fee includes lectures, materials, a catered luncheon, and refreshment breaks.
