Farrier Association Donation Supports UM Equine Program
- Topics: Article
The University of Maine's (UM) equine program received a donation from the Maine Farriers Association (MFA) on Dec. 10.
The association's $1,500 donation was to recognize the students, faculty, and staff associated with the UM program for the partnership that has evolved between the organizations. That collaboration has brought UM resources to bear in helping the farriers group accomplish its goals relative to optimal horse care throughout Maine. The university also provides a place for the association to hold educational activities.
MFA members Kevin Oliver, Brent Brown, and Barton Patrick presented the check to Nonni Daly, animal and veterinary science faculty member, and Robert Causey, DVM, PhD, the director of equine programs.
