Law enforcement authorities in Maryland are seeking those responsible for shooting a show horse residing in a Charles County pasture.

Diane Richardson, press secretary for Charles County Sheriff Rex Coffey said the horse's owner discovered the 8-year-old Morgan horse lying in its pasture on Jan. 21. The horse had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was later euthanized.

A cash reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment of those responsible for the shooting. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Charles County Sheriff's Department at 301/932-2222, or Charles County Crime Solvers at 866/411-TIPS. All Crime Solvers calls are anonymous.
