Conditions in the central and eastern part of Kentucky will again be right for the possible formation of frost in low lying areas tonight (Thursday, April 25), according to University of Kentucky researchers. Because of similarities in environmental conditions to April of 2001, UK scientists recommend that early and late pregnant mares be kept up until noon tomorrow (Friday, April 26). If practical, managers may consider mowing selected pastures tomorrow morning before turning mares out.
