Six horses were killed and two drivers were hospitalized after a reported eight horses got out of their pasture and ran loose on Highway 169 in Tulsa, Okla., about three o’clock this morning (Oct. 16), according to kjrh.com.
At one point there were reports of 30-40 horses loose on the highway, which was closed until the surviving horses could be rounded up.
There is video of the horses trotting down the highway on KJRH.com’s Web site.
The site reported that it took 3 1/2 hours for officials to determine all of the horses were rounded up and reopen the highway.
