The reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for the shooting deaths of six wild horses rose to $12,500 this week, when the Humane Society of the United States added $2,500 to the existing $10,000 reward offered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

Helicopter pilots from the BLM discovered the animals' carcasses in a remote area along the Nevada-California border last month.

Anyone with information about the shootings should call BLM Special Agent William Taylor at 503/601-6689. All calls are confidential.
