The Unwanted Horse Coalition (UHC) has announced a new way for equine rescues, sanctuaries, and care facilities to become involved through its new nonprofit membership.

“The UHC recognizes the need to provide access to resources and information for equine care facilities, rescues, and sanctuaries around the country,” said UHC Director Ashley Furst. “As such, we have created a nonprofit membership for these types of organizations that wish to be a part of the UHC, at a very minimal cost.

“Members should be organizations that are actively committed to advocating for ‘Owning Responsibly,’ organizations that strive to provide collaborative partnerships with the horse industry, and be a registered 501(c)(3),” she continued. “The UHC is unique in its industry wide collaboration efforts, adding ‘boots-on-the-ground’ organizations will further help us in our mission to help horses in the United States.”

Membership includes a $100 Operation Gelding Voucher, an invitation to attend the UHC’s Annual meeting each June, as well as membership to A Home for Every Horse and Equine.com
