The Blood-Horse Charitable Foundation, a division of The Blood-Horse, Inc., an international equine publishing house, will present a donation to the Lexington Humane Society on Wednesday, March 1, 2000, that will enable the purchase of a new large animal rescue horse trailer. The Blood-Horse donation matches a similar donation made by the Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Managers’ Club. The trailer will be used to provide support for larger disabled animals in emergency situations and will be available for loan to other regional humane society agencies.
“At the present time, we’re using a very old, small, two-horse trailer that truly is not equipped to handle large animals,” said John Pettus, Interim-Director for the Lexington Humane Society. “In addition, our current trailer is in need of major repair work. We are extremely appreciative of the generosity of the Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Managers’ Club and The Blood-Horse.”
