The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is seeking public comments on motorized vehicles and aircraft use in managing wild horses and burros on BLM lands in Montana and the Dakotas.

The agency will hold a public hearing on Feb. 15 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the BLM Montana/Dakotas State Office, 5001 Southgate Drive, in Billings, Montana.

Motorized vehicles could be used to obtain population estimates, collect monitoring information, apply fertility control treatments, transport animals, and gather excess wild horses, the BLM said.

Before motorized vehicles can be used, a public hearing is required in order to comply with Section 404 of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act
