The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) has revealed the eleven winners of its third annual “Help a Horse Day” contest, a nationwide grant competition for equine rescues and sanctuaries to raise awareness about the year-round work they do to save and care for at-risk horses.

The grand prize winner received a $25,000 grant, while ten runners-up were awarded grants of $10,000 or $5,000 to support their ongoing efforts to protect horses
