- Topics: Article, Horse Industry News
Does your significant other embrace your horsey lifestyle and live it right along with you, would he or she rather stay clean and barn-dirt free while supporting your hobby, or is he or she somewhere in the middle? Last week, we asked our readers about their significant others’ involvement with horses. More than 1,100 people answered our poll last week, and we’ve tallied the results!
Of the 1,111 respondents, 333 (30%) said their significant other isn’t involved with horses, but is supportive of their interest. Another 293 respondents (26%) said their significant other is comfortable handling horse on the ground and can make emergency decisions in their absence, while 130 people (12%) said their significant other watches and cheers from the sidelines. Some 193 respondents (17%) said their significant other is involved in horses as much as they are, and 116 people (10%) said he/she rides when the opportunity arises and helps make horse decisions. The remaining 46 respondents (4%) said their significant other might not even know they own a horse.

Additionally, more than 50 respondents commented about their significant other’s equine involvement
