  1. I have been fortunate enough to have helped about 50 little equines into this world. I bred Arabian show horses for 30 years and did most of the foaling myself. I miss helping the babies stand and nurse, but I don’t miss the long nights watching a monitor and waiting for the mare to decide it was time. Mare care is not about boarding, it is about arranging your life around the hormones of the mare.
